6. VSP'S EYECARE INFORMATIONVSP has partnered with Eyefinity, one of VSP's affiliates, to provide visitors a complete source for eyecare information. Links to Eyefinity and content on Eyefinity.com are provided for convenience and informational purposes only. The information does not replace medical advice and care from one's eyecare doctor or health care provider about vision problems or symptoms that may require medical attention.
VSP's Eyecare Information provides basic eyecare information to help visitors maintain overall eye health and wellness and to make knowledgeable choices about the many eyecare options available today.
The information on products and services provided by Eyefinity may not be covered under a member's VSP plan. Members are encouraged to review benefit information on vsp.com. Visitors should visit Eyefinity.com for information on Eyefinity's privacy policy and editorial standards.
7. EYE HEALTH CONTENT STANDARDSEye health content on our Web site is written and reviewed by optometrists and ophthalmologist. Articles specific to eye health conditions and diseases are subject to review by an eyecare doctor other than the optometrist or ophthalmologist who provided information contained in the article. Eye health content is reviewed and evaluated annually.
8. CONFLICT OF INTERESTPrior to publication, articles are reviewed for any conflict of interest. VSP will not accept any articles from which the author would derive personal benefit by providing inaccurate information. If, subsequent to publication, any appearance of a conflict or interest arises, the article will be immediately removed, or the link to the article will be disabled.
9. VSP'S RELATIONSHIP WITH THIRD-PARTIES OR CONTRACTORSThe vsp.com site contains links to Third-Party (or Contractor) Web sites. VSP does not control or maintain Third-Party or Contractor sites. However, VSP's Quality Oversight Committee periodically monitors the activity of these sites and, should it be determined by VSP that a Third-Party is not meeting our standards, VSP will take immediate corrective steps by disabling the link and notifying the Third-Party.
VSP does not endorse and is not responsible for the privacy practices of Third-Party or Contractor sites. Visitors should review the privacy policy of these sites to understand how they collect and use the information on their sites. VSP notifies users that they are leaving vsp.com by means of a message next to the link or by a green asterisk (*) on the "Find a Doctor" directory, as noted in the "Links" section above.
VSP does not knowingly accept advertising or sponsored health content from Web sites that contain false or misleading claims or promote ineffective or dangerous products. If false or misleading information is identified, VSP will take immediate corrective steps by removing the information.
10. CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY ON VSP.COMVSP respects the privacy of its Web site users. Simply by visiting the VSP Web site, personal information is not collected.
VSP members who enter personal information should know all communication between their computer and VSP's Web servers is encrypted using secured socket layer (SSL) technology. VSP's security software is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure transactions.
Some features, such as VSP's Doctor Directory and the member's benefit information, are tied directly to a member's personal information. VSP wants to ensure the right services are provided to the right person.

USE OF E-MAIL SUBSCRIPTION INFORMATIONE-mail subscription information that VSP collects may be used to personalize and target content of the e-mails you receive from VSP, enabling us to improve our service to you. As a subscriber, you may receive information from VSP, including VSP promotions, plan, benefit or educational information and/or surveys. We will not sell or use the information outside of VSP’s family of companies. We may provide general reports on e-mail subscription usage but we will not share e-mail addresses or any personal information that allows for identification of individuals.
